Stage 1 Remap
A stage 1 remap is a true optimisation of the stock vehicles parameters within the ECU to unlock the potential power that the manufacturer has left on the table. Stage 1 remap come with a variety of fuel specifications which will result in a greater power result.
Stage 2 Remap
A stage 2 performance remap is the perfect upgrade for Hybrid Turbos, FMICs, induction kits, exhausts and downpipes. Stage two performance remapping employs a quality exhaust system with a good air intake filter or induction kit.
This, in turn, will create more heat, meaning you will need to upgrade the intercooler to provide your vehicle with a far greater core construction, a larger surface area and potentially a bigger inlet and outlet from the intercooler.
Stage 3 Remap
Stage 3 is the last state of tuning for most cars. What’s modified for a tune to be classed as stage 3 open to interpretation, but at the very least, it is here that an upgraded turbocharger/ supercharger, such as a hybrid turbo, is installed.
What is ECU tuning?
ECU Remapping is a way of fine-tuning the vehicle’s brain’ to make it perform more efficiently. All vehicles have an ECU (Engine Control Unit) and the data file stored on the ECU tells the engine how to run. What we do is simply recalibrate the software on the ECU, either by connecting to the vehicle’s OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) port, bench tuning or by adding a plug and play tuning module kit. We can improve a vehicle’s fuel economy by up to 15%, or increase power by up to 40% using these methods. Remapping is sometimes known as chip tuning, which is an old method of tuning.
GUARANTEED RESULTS
We guarantee your satisfaction with Geared-Up-Tuning remaps and offer a no quibble 7-day money-back guarantee if not completely satisfied with the results. All our Remaps come with a lifetime warranty on the hardware we have written.
FAQ
How long to tune my vehicle?
A custom written OBD remap will usually take between 1-2 hours, depending on the vehicle. However, What if the main dealer wipes the map with a software update?
some vehicles especially those requiring bench tuning or dyno can take up to a whole day. Get in contact with us for an idea of how long it will take us to tune your vehicle.
Can a remap be taken back off?
Absolutely. We offer this service free of charge if the vehicle is brought back to us. We’ll be very surprised if that’s what you want after taking one of our remap products, however in the case of lease cars some customers prefer to put the car back to standard before returning the car. You might want it back to standard if you are visiting a dealer for warranty or service work, again we will do this for free. Should you lose your tuning files due to dealer actions or parts failure we will be happy to re-install the map onto your car free of charge where possible.
Will a remap reduce the life of my engine?
No. Our remaps are designed specifically to improve the performance of your vehicle whilst remaining within the tolerances of your vehicles’ components.
Sadly, in an attempt to achieve ‘big numbers’ some other companies over tune engines, placing excessive stress on the engine, transmission, cooling systems, etc, leading to reduced life span and reliability of the vehicle. We pride ourselves in producing reliable remaps which do not overstress your vehicle but still produce impressive results.
Why choose a remap over a plug and play machine?
ECU remapping is far superior to the diesel tuning boxes. When we remap an ECU it optimises various settings and parameters the ECU controls that a tuning box cannot as diesel tuning boxes can only give more fuel pressure.
Why we charge what we charge!
We pride ourselves on being the best in the market with genuine tools that cost thousands, we update our tools every year to keep up with the most up to date cars.
Other remapping companies might charge £100/£200 for a remap but just make sure they are using genuine tools as if something was to go wrong you could be in serious trouble with trying to get your car back on the road.

Extra's We Offer
SPEED LIMIT REMOVAL
Almost every vehicle has an absolute speed limiter. Some have 120mph others 155mph and so on. We can lower/increase this limiter according to needs.
MAF SENSOR DISABLE
MAF is a very important sensor for fuel regulation, but sometimes (on high powered tuned cars) the MAF reading hits maximum value and touches maximum allowed voltage read by the sensor making fault registration.
HOT/WARM ENGINE START
Some cars have a bug in the ECU software causing the big problem to start the engine when it is hot or warm. Replacing the starter will help, but we offer an alternative to fix it only by changing the software
LAUNCH CONTROL
Launch control is available on a limited number of car models. Please contact us for more information.
AdBlue/SCR REMOVAL
We use switch or combination solution to disable AdBlue. After a successful shutdown, the whole AdBlue system can be removed without data trouble codes or safe mode.
INTAKE/SWIRL FLAPS
Some cars have issues with the Flaps and being the repair costs high, we simply offer to switch it off and deactivate the flaps by disconnecting them and removing their functionality.
LAMBDA/02 REMOVAL
If the catalyst has been removed, we can disable the second lambda, but the first lambda sensor will still control fuelling and maintains the correct lambda values and it will not detect low efficiency from the missing catalyst
START-STOP DISABLE
Start/stop sometimes can be very annoying, as every time the car is driven it has to be switched off to avoid the car disconnecting itself. We can turn this function off
DPF REMOVAL
We use various methods to disable the regeneration of DPF systems. After a successful shutdown, the filter can be removed from the exhaust system without causing error codes or limp mode.
EGR REMOVAL
To turn off EGR valve we use different solutions for different models. At the end EGR is switched off and cause no more problems. Engine will be more efficient with better fuel economy.
DTC REMOVAL
We can remove and turn off any diagnostic trouble code (DTC) from Engine Control Unit causing you problems (for example check engine light on). When DTC is off component can be removed.
TORQUE MONITORING DISABLE
Newer ECUs have new problem the Torque Monitoring function, this function makes ECU detect if the values of Torque are inconsistent with predefined ones and this will make car go into safe mode when apparently all is ok. We can disable this monitoring function.
RPM REV LIMITER
Every vehicle has its own engine rpm limiter. We can lower or increase this limiter as desired.
